In this episode, we continue our discussion on patient and family engagement (PFE) and concerns as the pandemic continues. We will focus on accessing care, on the care settings patients and families prefer—whether virtual visits, urgent care, the ER or the caregiver’s office—and on their attitudes toward going in for preventative screenings, such as colonoscopies or mammograms. The extensive and ongoing assessment of patients and families by Vizient and Sg2 will yield valuable information for your clinical practice.

Two of the most significant challenges facing clinical practices today, to increase patient satisfaction and to meet patient demands, involve connecting with patients and families. Recognizing patient and family engagement (PFE) as a critical aspect of care, especially as COVID-19 has overhauled and overwhelmed care delivery models, Vizient and Sg2 have conducted ongoing assessments of patients and families to learn their attitudes during this crisis. In this episode, part one of a three-part series, we will discuss those patient-family assessments and what they reveal.
