Workplace violence in health care – Part 1

In the emergency room, the spouse of a drug-seeker verbally threatens the physician who refuses to provide opioids. A nurse endures a physical assault and wants to leave the field. These true instances of workplace violence are all-too-common in health care, and today’s episode focuses on why violence is happening and the toll it takes on health care workers.
